How to Keep Your Toddler Busy Throughout the Day?

Recent research states that children become more physically active when they reach the age of 2-3. It can be quite challenging for parents to keep their toddlers busy with new and interesting activities so they don’t get bored.

At Centerra Ranch Montessori School, we provide a diverse curriculum of activities for young children in Fulshear. Our highly experienced Montessori teachers designed these activities to keep young children busy with fun and productive activities. This way, they can enjoy and learn at the same time. Let’s look at some fun activities to keep your toddler busy throughout the day.

Prepare A Scavenger Hunt

Kids love adventure! Prepare a mini scavenger hunt for them. Let them think they are going on an adventure. Ask them to find something colorful, something to use in the rainy season, or something to play with.

Ask them to race you to the destination if you have more than one kid. Hide small treats in each stage to make the task more enjoyable.

Set Up A Bored Bin

It’s common for toddlers to get bored easily. It’s not a bad thing because boredom sparks creativity. It helps your child become independent. However, in doing so, your child may look for pursuits around the house. They may end up drawing on the walls, making a mess in the kitchen, or doing something inadvisable. That is why it’s important to steer your child’s independent spirit to a creative cause.

An interesting way to do this is by creating a ‘bored bin.’ Fill a box with interesting items like legos, craft games, science kits, or play dough. Ask your toddler to open the box when bored and explore the items themselves.

It’s Time To Play, ‘Don’t Wake The Lion!’

Parents often get tired while managing their chores and keeping toddlers busy simultaneously. Sometimes they don’t even get time to rest their eyes or catch a little break. One way to keep your toddler busy while catching a breather is by playing, ‘Don’t wake the lion.’

Keep one of their toys hidden nearby, and ask the little one to find it without waking the lion. If they make a noise or wander elsewhere, just pop open your eyes and let out a lion’s growl. It’s a win-win situation; you get some rest while the toddler gets the toy!
