The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program is a new state-funded initiative launching in Fall 2026 to help families access approved educational programs, including private Montessori education.

What Is TEFA?
TEFA provides eligible Texas families with state-funded education accounts that may be used toward qualified educational expenses, including Pre-K and Kindergarten tuition at participating schools.
Funding is awarded by the State of Texas
If applications exceed available funding, a state-run lottery may apply
Families must apply directly through the official TEFA portal
Who Is TEFA For?
Children who will be:
✔3, 4, or 5 years old by September 1, 2026
✔Enrolling in Pre-K or Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year
